BWF Ranking K Srikant moved to 8th spot

Rising Indian shuttler K Srikanth jumped two places in BWF rankings men’s singles category.

21-year-old Srikanth made it to the semifinals of the Hong Kong Open, Just after beating two-time Olympic gold medallist Lin Dan in China Open moved him to the carrier best ranking in the Badminton World Federation Ranking. Now he achieved the eighth place in BWF ranking men’s singles category.

Along with him, Commonwealth Games gold medallist Parupalli Kashyap, also gained a position to be at 16th spot.

Saina Nehwal has remained at fourth position in the women’s singles list, but two-time World Championships bronze medallist P V Sindhu dropped a place to be out of the top-10.  She is currently at 11th.

Two other male Indian shuttlers — Sourabh Varma and Anand Pawar moved up to 35th and 43rd spots respectively. H S Prannoy (26th), B Sai Praneeth (41st) and R M V Gurusaidutt (42nd) maintained their respective positions.

There are no Indians in the top-25 list for men’s and mixed doubles.

In the women’s doubles, pair of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa slipped down to 20th position.
