FIFA World cup 2014: Hosts Brazil beat Colombia 2-1 to secure their spot in semi-finals

David_Luiz_2965106bThiago Silva’s early strike and David Luis amazing free kick against Colombia at Estadio Castelao, Fortaleza secured Brazil’s spot in FIFA World Cup 2014 semi-finals. Now they will face Germany at Estadio Mineirao Belo Horizonte.
Brazil’s centre defenders Thiago Silva and David Luis scored in either half. Thiago Silva gave hosts lead in the 7th minute by placing Neymar’s  corner back into the nets. In the second half, David Luis 69th minute amazing free kick from 30 yards gave them two goals lead.
The game was seemed to be in Brazil’s control but fouled by Julio Cesar on Carlos Bacca in the box gave life to Colombia in the 80th minute. Colombian star James Rodrigues showed his skill sending Julio Cesar one way and placed the spot kick to the other. This was his 6th goal in the tournament.

Besides this Brazilian star Neymar out of World Cup due to vertebra fracture. Brazil’s team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar said,“Neymar has a broken vertebra — he’s expected to be out for four to six weeks. He will not be in condition to play, he will need a few weeks to be fit again. He is very, very sad.” The incident was taken place in the 87th minute when Neymar caughts a knee in the back from Zuniga.

Brazilian midfielder stated that, “ It’s a big loss for us. We need to find a way to stay together and become stronger after losing our greatest player. We will try to win this World Cup and for sure we will dedicate it to Neymar.
