Germany become the first European team to lift the World Cup in South America and wrote a new chapter in the history of international football. This win came after 24 years, last time they lifted the trophy in1990.
Mario Goetze’s goal gave Germany its fourth World Cup title in its eighth final. Goetze controlled a cross from Andre Schurrle in the 113th minute with his chest and volleyed the ball past Argentinian keeper Sergio Romero.
Argentina lost their second World Cup finals against Germans, third in total. In 1986, Argentina beat Germany 3-2 and The Germans taken their revenge in the next World Cup beat Argentina by one goal in 1990.
Argentina star Lionel Messi was named the winner of Golden ball. Thomas Muller and Arjen Robben win Silver and Bronze ball Award.
Columbian star James Rodriguez took home the Golden Boot award the most no of goals in FIFA World Cup 2014.
Manuel Neuer win Golden Glove Award. There was zero doubt in my mind that he was going to win this award.
Fair Play Award was taken home by Columbia and France international Paul Labile Pogba was awarded as Best Young Player Award.
