After poor show in T20, Saeed Ajmal mulls on retirement

Pakistan Saeed Ajmal mulls on retirement after poor show in domestic T20

Pakistan great spinner Saeed Ajmal is planning to end his international career due to his poor performance in the domestic T20 matches. He was struggling with his new bowling action and has failed to adapt to his re-modelled action.

Ajmal just took four wickets in four matches with an average of 62 by conceding 124 runs in the domestic T20 matches and thus fail to impress selectors after back to back poor performances.

“Saeed is disappointed with his own form and his failure to come to grips with his modified bowling action. That is why he also skipped Faisalabad’s last match in the tournament in Rawalpindi,” one source told PTI informing that the off-break bowler is thinking big time about retirement.

Chief selector Haroon Rasheed said that he should concentrate more on his new bowling action there is lot of domestic cricket to come this year and should keep on working on his bowling action rather to think about the retirement plans.

“It is never easy to change your bowling action after you have bowled with it and enjoyed success for so many years. We feel for Ajmal and the problems he must be going through. But atleast he is trying and like I have said the doors are still open for him if he can show us his new action has also become effective,” Rasheed said.
