Cricket: One more time for One more battle

A 50-over match will be played between Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and Rest of the World XI on Saturday at Lord’s cricket ground, England, to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Lord’s Cricket ground. The ground was named after Thomas Lord, the then owner of the ground after the MCC moved to its present site in 1814. MCC versus Hertfordshire was the first ever match played at Lords cricket ground on June 22, 1814.

Star players like Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara and Rahul Dravid playing for MCC while Shane Warne, Adam Gilchrist and Muttiah Murlitharan in Rest of the World XI

Fans have been eagerly waiting to watch Sachin and Shane Warne in action during the match as Sachin has played his last match on 14th November 2013.also Tendulkar versus Warne is one of the most interesting and entertaining contest that cricket has witnessed. Englishmen Ian Gould and Richard Kettleborough are the two umpires that will be on the field, while Michael Gough will be the third umpire.

For the first time since 1987, fans will be allowed to watch the match from in between the perimeter fence and the boundary rope on the grand stand side of the ground. There will also be performances from 63-piece steel band, and singer- songwriters.

The match will be telecast on Star Sports at 3.15pm IST (5th July).
