La Liga 2016/17: A journey of War and Emotions

Every football season comes with an excitement for fans and the players. We see some big signings in the transfer window, clubs flood so much of money for signing the players which sometimes bear fruit and sometimes flunk their expectations. With the start of the season every team equals on the table, positions change throughout, teams excel in their games, others suffer defeat after defeat, but nothing gets so exciting when it comes to the close of the season where we see teams battling against giants in the battle of survival.

The La liga 2016-2017 season end of games are no different and probably show cased the most impressive El Classico where Barcelona fought hard to remain in the title race and defeated Real Madrid by 3-2. Though their effort scarce by just three points or a match win to defend their title but they make it difficult for Real Madrid, who haven’t registered the title win since 2011-2012. Lionel Messi has made the match more memorable by scoring in the stoppage time of the game and voluntarily taking yellow card by removing his jersey to celebrate his winning goal for his home club at Santiago bernabéu. Of course the Messi’s side is hot favourites to win that match, including sports betting site   as Barcelona have no other option than to win to defend their title from the league rivals.

The La Liga 2016/17 has embedded with a very emotional episode also where Atletico Madrid who finished third has bid an emotional adieu to their Vicente Calderon stadium thus ending 51 years of their journey at the stadium. In the Farewell match Atletico Madrid played against World Legends where Diego Forlan, Fernando Torres and Gabi all turned out for the home side against the world XI including the great Ronaldinho, Clarence Seedorf and Riyah Mahrez and played the final ever match at the historic ground before its demolition.

In fact you can see the manipulation of the rules of football across all leagues and some players are famous for their dives and what can only be considered award-winning acting performances that are deserving of any Oscar.

Whatever the result are of these nail-biting end of season matches, you are guaranteed they will produce some great football and footballers, controversial decisions and tears of joy and despair as the final whistle is blown bringing to the end another fantastic season of La Liga Santander that has seen some amazing wins and defeats over the 2016-2017 campaign.

With the end of the season and the summer transfer window is opening we all will be seeing some great signing by different clubs to strengthen their squad as well as the next exciting football season where some teams will fight to retain their title, some to win their league title, some team will work hard to get automatic entry in Champions league while some will play hardcore football to avoid relegation zone. The 2017-2018 season will either be great football played hard and honest or a tactical match utilizing the rules of football to the max to get that all important wins.
