Real Madrid has sign Atletico Madrid star on 5-year contract after he completes his medical at the club
Barcelona and Real Madrid were both interested in signing the Atletico Madrid defender as confirmed by Theo Hernandez’s agent.
After a prolonged tug-of-war between the two clubs, Spanish daily Marca on Monday reported that Hernandez has passed a medical exam at Real Madrid and that the club is all set to sign him in the summer transfer window.
Theo, who is playing for Alaves on a loan deal from Atletico de Madrid, is one of the most promising players in the Spanish La Liga and would be a good backup for Marcelo.
This also signals the end of Fabio Coentrao’s career at Real Madrid who is struggling with his form and fitness. The Real Madrid President Florentino Perez is hoping to sell Coentrao in the summer transfer window.
Atletico de Madrid and Real Madrid will negotiate Theo’s move after Wednesday’s game. Florentino Perez could pay the €24 million on his release clause but he could also accept a €30 million move which wouldn’t be considered as hostile by the Atletico board.
