Wimbledon: starting from June 29

The Championships, Wimbledon is going to start on the soil of England from 29th June.
Wimbledon, is the oldest tournament in the world. The first season of Wimbledon Championships was held in 1877 at the All England Club in Wimbledon, London. It is one of the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments at majors, along with the Australian Open, the French Open (Roland Garros) and the US Open.

Wimbledon is the only Major tournament played on grass, since the Australian Open shifted to hard court in 1988 which also gave the game its original name of “lawn tennis”.
The tournament will take place in late June and early July, starting from June 29.

1. Men’s Singles- Novak Djokovic (Serbia )
2. Women’s singles- Petra Kvitová (Czech republic )
3. Men’s doubles- Vasek Pospisil (Canada )/Jack Sock (united states )
4. Women’s doubles- Sara Errani (Italy)/ Roberta Vinci (Italy)
5. Mixed doubles-Samantha Stosur (Australia)/Nenad Zimonjic (Serbia)
