The victory over Caroline Garcia and Kristina Mladenovic has not been easy as Sania and Hingis lost their first set by 1-6. The itchy start gave Martina and Sania some early hiccups in the game.

The second set too was started in favour of Caroline and Kristina where they took 5-2 lead over the Wimbledon champions. But after that the World no.1 duo has shown exemplary performance. They first levelled the second set 5-5 and then sealed it by 7-5.

The US open and Wimbledon champions raced to a 8-3 lead in the decider and clinched the title comfortably to continue their unbeaten winning streak of 30 matches.

Sania Mirza after the match expressed her situation during the match while talking to press, “At 6-1, 5-2 the only thing we could say to each other was that it was only one break.

“That’s the only positive you can find from a situation like that. We tried to hold our serve for 5-3 to give ourselves another chance, then we had a huge game at 5-3 and the momentum went in our favor.”

“We’re really happy to win another tournament. We’re really happy with the way we fought,” she added.
