Red Bull Ring FP2: Ferrari Stump Mercedes.

Austrian Grand Prix free practice session 2, Sebastian Vettel bounced back in a comprehensive manner by claiming the top spot with a time of 1:09.600 in FP2 at the Red Bull Ring. A loss of drive in FP1 would see Vettel stop up after only four laps, but with the start of FP2 German was straight up to speed his car form the beginning.

Despite of completing the practice session there were some problems related to gearbox of Vettel’s Ferrari, regardless of being fastest, Vettel has finished only 32 laps during both sessions.

Nico Rosberg was a nearby second place behind Vettel, the German falling only 0.011secs short of his compatriot, while Kimi Raikkonen finished third, with Pastor Maldonado vaulting Lotus to fourth subsequent to completing 12th in the morning session. Colleague Romain Grosjean completed the evening session in seventh place subsequent to surrendering his seat to save Jolyon Palmer in the morning session.

In the meantime, Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button hitting more issues having finished only 17 lap each. Despite the fact that Alonso had the capacity make a big appearance the new short-nose on the MP4-30, he missed the last 30mins of the session, while Button will face a twenty-five grid penalty.
