Wales enters in world top 10 for the first time

Wales has attained their highest Fifa world ranking by entering in the top 10 for the first time

Wales has moved up by 12 places to 10th following England who is currently at ninth position. Wales’ past highest positioning was 22nd and as of late as March 2011 they were as low as 116th.

The big surge happens after Gareth Bale’s goal secured a 1-0 win over Belgium in a Euro 2016 qualifier in June.

They are three points clear at the top of Group B with four games remaining as they offer to achieve their first major finals since 1958.

List was topped by Argentina despite losing to Chile on penalties in the final of the Copa America. Germany the previous year topper has placed second after losing the top spot to Argentina.

Spain has also lost two places and dropped at 12th position. Portugal and Colombia are the  only teams in top 10 list who have retained their positions at the same spot.
