Manchester city had completed its signing with Former Chelsea star Frank Lampard on six-month loan deal. Manuel Pellegrini confirmed the move after City’s loss to Olympiakos in shoot-out on Saturday.

Manuel Pellegrini said ,“From Wednesday, he will start working with us and play for us until January.”

The 36-year-old England international had signed in July for New York City Football Club. He will be at the Etihad Stadium until January. The Major League Soccer club owned by Manchester City and baseball giants New York Yankees intends to begin its playing in 2015 MLS season.

Pellegrini added : “He knows we have a good team and we have a lot of games in the Champions League so he’s very important for our team.”

Chelsea’s top goal scorer Frank Lampard had scored 211 goals in 649 matches.

The club had already signed Spain international and former Atletico Madrid forward David Villa for three years as their first franchise player.
