With the 2016-17 Premier League and the Serie A campaigns coming to an end, the clubs will soon be turning their focus to the summer transfer window. Over the years, Italian football has produced some wonderful players, and Serie A is inundated with some sensational footballers. With that in mind, today we’re taking a look at three players from Serie A who would be perfect for clubs in the English top flight.

Gonzalo Higuain (Juventus)

Gonzalo Higuain is one of the best strikers in the world and has been in stunning form for Juventus this season. The Argentina international has scored 24 goals and provided two assists in 35 Series A appearances for the Bianconeri this campaign. Higuain has also performed admirably in the Champions League, and the 29-year-old would be a brilliant signing for Chelsea. If Diego Costa leaves the Blues for China in the summer transfer window, then Higuain would be the perfect replacement. Although Juventus may not be willing to sell one of their most prized assets, the Italian giants could be tempted if they are offered a huge transfer fee.

Andrea Belotti (Torino)

Andrea Belotti has taken Italian football by storm and is 4/1 to finish as the top goalscorer in the top flight according to latest Serie A betting odds. The 23-year-old has found the net 25 times and has provided five assists in 32 league matches for Torino so far this campaign. The Italy international is a very promising striker, and given that he is only 23, he is only going to improve further. Manchester United would be wise to make a move for Belotti in the summer transfer window. With the contract of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is out injured the moment, running out in the summer, the Red Devils will need a proven goalscorer to lead the line next season. Former Palermo man Belotti could be that striker.

Mario Mandzukic (Juventus)

Mario Mandzukic has played for some of the biggest clubs in the world. Having achieved considerable success with Bayern Munich, the striker moved to Atletico Madrid before being snapped up by Italian giants Juventus in the summer of 2015. Now 30, the Croatia international has scored six goals and provided four assists in 26 Serie A starts for Juventus so far this season. West Ham United need a proven goalscorer in order to push for a top-ten finish in the Premier League next season. Mandzukic would probably consider West Ham a step down from Juventus, but Hammers manager Slaven Bilic could be able to convince to switch to the London club. The former VfL Wolfsburg star is a very hard-working striker, and he would be a very good addition to the current West Ham squad.

There are a number of other Serie A-based players that clubs in the Premier League should be looking at. AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma would be a good signing for Everton in the summer transfer window, while Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi, who has scored 24 goals and provided eight assists in Serie A this season, would be perfect for Arsenal.
