Manuel Pellegrini’s team will face Liverpool in the Capital One Cup final

Sergio Aguero’s late goal booked Manchester City’s place in the League Cup final in their 3-1 victory over Everton.

In the first half, Ross Barkley gave Everton a 3-1 aggregate lead after 18 minutes at the Etihad Stadium but a deflected effort by Fernandinho’s put City hopes alive.

Kevin De Bruyne scored a second from a cross from sterling – however the ball seemed to have gone out for goal kick. Aguero headed the third in the net to make it 4-3on aggregate and set up the final clash at Wembley against Liverpool on February 28.

The Etihad Stadium was lighted and the home fans were celebrating after superbly headed goal by Aguero in 76th minutes from De Bruyne’s cross from the right.

2594182Besides their win in the semi-final, Kevin De Bruyne got a ligament injury in stoppage time. Manuel Pellegrini said after the game that the injury to De Bruyne was not an ‘easy’ one to recover from.

The final of the 56th edition of the Capital One Cup will take place at Wembley Stadium, London, on Sunday February 28, 2016. Kick-off is scheduled for 16.30 GMT and Liverpool have been elected as the “home” team.
