Lampard goal made mourinho pay for his transfer

Frank Lampard scored against his former club Chelsea

Match between Man city and Chelsea was played at Etihad stadium on 21 september 2014. The match was as thrilling as it suppose to be. Mourinho’s side remained on their defensive strategy in the first half and Man city kept most of the possession. The score remained 0-0 in the first half.

It was the second half that pulled out unexpected twists. It was in 66th minute when Man City got a set back after Zabaleta got its second yellow and was sent off. Just after his dismissal Chelsea substitute Schurrle made 1-0 for Chelsea.

It was not all over, Manuel Pellegrini (Manager Manchester City) at 78th minute substituted Lampard and his entrance not only applauded by Man city fans but Chelsea fans too. It was just 7 minutes of Lampard entry that he made an equalizer.

Apart from striking an equalizer there were no celebrations on Lampard’s face. The game ends with a draw with lampard halting blues perfect start.

After the game ends Lampard had shown gratitude toward his fans with clapping and thanking gesture. His former team mates John terry and Petr Cech hugged him. Cech who was not playing came from stands to congratulate Lampard for his goal.
