Chelsea had already submitted a bid of £20m that was turned down by Martínez last week. The reason for turning down the deal was that Everton boss Martínez got furious with Mourinho for openly talking about the move.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez and owner Bill Kenwright have so far insisted the England international is not for sale. But Chelsea are keen to sign him before the start of the new season therefore they are planning to submit a second bid of £26m for John Stones.

As Chelsea is opening all its ways for the 21-years-old England international and Everton is not accepting any deal for him, it is believed the bid could go above £30m. Stones is seen as the perfect long-term replacement for John Terry.
