Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is putting every effort to strengthen its squad prior to the starting of the new season. In the ongoing efforts he had tabled a bid of £30m for Lacazette but the bid was rejected by Frabce League 1 club Lyon last week.

Lacazette, who has scored 48 league goals over the past two seasons, signed a new four-year contract to remain at Lyon last August and is on Wenger radar since this summer. Despite Lyon has rejected arsenal first bid to sign Lacazette, Wenger is all set to table an even higher bid to escort the player to Arsenal.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas claimed he did not expect Arsenal to return with an improved offer for the 25-year-old Lacazette. Lyon values Lacazette in a region of £40m but Lyon president Aulas is not ready to sell his star striker and expects him to be at the club for the forthcoming season.

Lacazette, capped 10 times by France, has spent his entire professional career at Lyon and scored 92 goals in 230 appearances for the club. He has also being linked with West Ham earlier in the summer.

Arsenal have signed three players ahead of the new season- Takuma Asano (Forward), Granit Xhaka(Midfielder) and Rob Holding (Central Defender).
