Trinidad & Tobago Red steel clinch 1st CPL T20 title.

Shahrukh Khan’s  Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel beat Barbados Tridents

Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel won their first Carribean Premier League T20 title beating the defending champions Barbados Tridents in the finals by 20 runs on Sunday at the Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain.

T & T is co-owned by Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan, who is also the co-owner of IPL Kolkata knight Rider’s team. Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel chose to bat first after winning the toss.

Pakistan player Kamran Akram (60 off 46) and South African Cameron Delport  (50 off 38 balls) made their valuable contribution by scoring quick fifties and also put together a 102-run ball partnership as Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel scored 178 for five in their 20 overs. Later on Skipper Dwayne bravo smashed quick 29 runs off 15 balls when both the batsman got out in the 16th over.

Chasing 179 target, Barbados fell 20 runs short. They score only 158 runs with a loss of 4 wickets. Form the batting side only the opener Dwayne Smith could manage to score (40 off 30) no other batsman could take the team across the finish line.

From the bowling side Sulieman Benn was pick of the bowler he took 2 wickets by conceding 24 runs in his four over spell. Akram was declared as man of the match while the skipper Dwayne bravo from Trinidad & Tobago finished as man of the series.
