The left arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman who tormented Indian Batsmen during their 2015 tour of Bangladesh missed out from the squad after not having enough game time under his belt since his recovery from surgery. Although he doesn’t have any problem medically, he still needs to work on his skill fitness, said Bangladesh’s chief selector Minhajul Abedin.

Mustafizur injured his shoulder while bowling for Sussex in the English T20 tournament last July, and underwent surgery for it in August. He returned against New Zealand in December, in the limited-overs series, taking four wickets in two ODIs and only a single wicket in two T20 matches.

There are a number of players who returned after recovering from their injuries in the squad. Mushfiqur Rahim, top order batsmen Mominul Haque and Imrul kayes who had been sidelined for the last Test against New Zealand in Christchruch with injuries, returned to the squad along with fast bowler Shafiul Islam.

Bangladesh Squad: Tamim Iqbal, Sabbir Rahman, Mahmudullah, Shakib Al Hasan, Mehedi Hasan, Taijul Islam, Kamrul Islam Rabbi, Soumya Sarkar, Taskin Ahmed, Subashis Roy, Imrul Kayes, Liton Das, Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shafiul Islam
