In a big blow for the Kings XI Punjab, Mitchell Johnson will potentially miss the entire 2014 Champions League Twenty20 due to a rib injury.
According to Cricket Australia’s (CA) physiotherapist Alex Kountouris, “Mitch had some rib pain during the recent ODI tour of Zimbabwe. Since returning to Australia, he has had some scans that have confirmed some irritation of the tip of the rib. He has not fully recovered as yet and will be reviewed over the next week.”
Johnson had picked up 17 wickets in 14 matches in IPL 7 to help Kings XI Punjab finish runners-up. Kings XI Punjab will be opening their campaign at the Champions League against Hobert Hurricanes Thursday.
