DHONI MENDY

Indian Cricket team Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, co-owner of the Chennaiyin FC team, wowed thousands of fans on the field after the match between his home team and Mumbai City FC in Indian Super League on Tuesday.

Wearing the No. 7 jersey, the star cricketer went around the athletic field before the start of the match showing some football skills to his thousands of fans sitting in the stadium, with the fans going crazy every time he waved. During the break Dhoni played the role of goalkeeper, in his goalkeeping he saves one goal by diving to his right and pushed the ball away.

Then, Abhishek Bachchan, another co-owner of Chennaiyin FC, did his best to cheer up the crowd. The actor went along with Dhoni around the track. He and Dhoni then went to the special ‘Super Fan’ stand (for winners of the Twitter contest). Loads of ‘selfies’ with the celebrities followed.

To a question by a sports channel, on playing football for his school, Dhoni said, “That was 15 years ago. I still do [play] a bit. It is similar to wicket-keeping. It is good to be back on the football field — my first love. But of course, the standard [now] is high. The players are playing good football. I hope Chennai comes and supports the team.”
