Top Indian shuttlers P.V. Sindhu and Kidambi Srikanth urge ahead in the World Championships by the wins in their respective categories in the 9000-seater Istora Senayan in Jakarta on Tuesday.

11th seeded Sindhu , who had won the bronze medal in 2013 and 2014 in world championship, needed 50 minutes to move past Danish Line Kjaersfeldt 11-21, 21-17, 21-16 in the women’s singles second round.

The World No. 13 Indian had been struggling for form due to an injury. Sindhu, who got a bye in the first round, will next take on Olympic champion and former World No.1 LI Xuerui of China in the pre-quarterfinals.

In men’s singles third seed Srikanth started positively with a 21-10, 21-13 win over Australia’s Michael Fariman in 24 minutes. Now he will face Chinese Taipei’s Hsu Jen Hao against whom he has won the only match played between them last year in Denmark.
