Kidambi Srikanth’s good run in the $350,000 Hong Kong Open Super Series came to an end as he lost to world NO.2 Chen Long of China in the men’s singles semi-final on Saturday. With his loss, India’s campaign ended at the Hong Kong Open.

Srikanth lost 17-21, 21-19, 6-21 to Chen Long in an hour and four minutes at the Hong Kong Coliseum. Chen showed his experiance from the start, He took a 10-3 lead in no time before world NO.10 earned four straight points to reduce the gap (7-10).

Srikanth gave a tough fight and equalise at 17-all. However, the 25-year-old Chen finished the game by winning four points in a row. Chen win the first game by
21-17.

Srikanth fought back win the second game by 21-19 and leveled the -match.
After surrendering a game, Chen hit back in the third game. This time without giving any chance to 21-year-old, Chen won the third game match by 21-6.
Srikanth had lost to Chen at the BWF World Championships in August and this was his second loss against World No.2 Chen Long.
